Transition to El Nino

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Sea-surface temperatures are expected to remain above average near the equator. Scientists working with the Climate Pediction Center issued an El Nino Advisory. They expect the impact to last through spring.

A typical El Nino brings more rain to the southern United States from California to Florida.

In Ohio, we typically see drier than normal conditions.

After a snowy and rainy start to the year, we do expect to see below average preciptation through May.
