Seven day rain streak

Dayton picked up at least a trace of rain 20 days this month. 2011 was last time Dayton saw this many gloomy days. The 20 year average is 16 days of rainfall in April.

Rain in April is no surprise. It’s the start to the rainy season for the Miami Valley. April, May, June, and July we typically see four or more inches of rain.

This month Dayton recorded 4.22 inches which is 0.27 inches above normal. We saw an abnormal amount of days with rain, but the amount was about average.

There is rain in the Storm Team 2 Forecast as we head into May. Overall looks to be right about average in terms of rainfall and temperatures have a 40% chance to be above average.

Today the rain streak is on the line. A few showers will skim across the northern Miami Valley. Dayton has a chance to see an isolated shower this afternoon. So far we have had 7 days of rain in a row. If we see rain at the airport today April will end with 21 days of rain which is a 20 year record.
