Trotwood-Madison wins State Championship


COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 1 Trotwood-Madison (28-2) defeated Columbus South (28-2) 77-73 in the OHSAA Division II boys basketball state championship Saturday at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.

The Division II Player of the Year, and senior guard for the Rams, Amari Davis put up a game-high 24 points. Junior guard Sammy Anderson scored 20 points and had 7 rebounds while Carl Blanton, an All-Ohio Honorable Mention junior added 17 points of his own.

Junior guard Trevell Adams and junior center Samual Barton led the Bulldogs with 16 points each.

Trotwood-Madison’s victory marked their first ever State Championship in its fifth trip to the state tournament. The Rams were runners-up in 2006.

The attendance for the game was 9,881.
