HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) - Over in the GWOC East, Fairmont went into tonight's game the winners of five straight, making the trip up to Huber Heights to take on the Wayne Warriors at Heidkamp Stadium.
Firebirds fell behind 20 to nothing but made a comeback. Jesse Deglow went down the sideline, 75 yards for the touchdown to get Fairmont on the board.
A little later it's Jesse Deglow finding the endzone again, and suddenly it's a 20 to 14 game with Wayne still out in front.
Deglow had four touchdowns in the second quarter alone but the Warriors fought back. Devon Nelson takes the hand off and the junior goes in from 11 yards out.
Moving ahead to the fourth quarter, Wayne's Rashad McKee finds Steven Victoria in the back of the endzone for the touchdown
The Warriors hang on to win a thrilling 49 to 44.
