Operation Football Week 3: Coldwater at Versailles

VERSAILLES, Ohio (WDTN) – Versailles hosted Coldwater at H.B. Hole Field Friday night.

The Tigers were gambling against the powerhouse Cavs early on, 3rd and 2.

Ryan Martin finds Derek Cavin wide open, big gain into Cavs territory.

Later in the drive, Versailles facing a 4th and one, and the Tigers go for it.

But the Cavs are ready, Ben Wenning stacks up Jake Poling and the Tigers turn it over on downs.

Coldwater wasted no time cashing it in.

The Cavs drive down Jake Hemmelgarn hits Cole Frilling across the middle for the touchdown, 7-0 Coldwater.

In the first play of the second quarter, Cavs were on the move again when Shane Homan gets the edge, heads down the right sideline, cutting back and scoring from 25 yards out, 14-0 Coldwater.

Versailles tries to tighten it up but the Cavs keep on rolling. Hemmelgarn tries to keep the play alive on 3rd and goal. He finds Noah Miller for the touchdown, 5 yards on the score, 21-0 Coldwater.

Versailles fans hoped for a comeback but it wasn’t meant to be. 35-7 Coldwater.
