TROY, Ohio (WDTN) – In our Premier Health Game of the Week, Troy came into the night in good shape at 6 and 1, and third in its playoff region, while the Yellow Jackets needed a win to have any chance of still competing for a division title.
It was Senior Night at Troy Memorial Stadium as the Trojans took on the Sidney Yellow Jackets.
Jadon Kulp-Biship warmed up the jets and the draw play works to perfection. A tuck and run by Kulp-Bishop set the Trojans up near the endzone.
Now Kulp-Bishop tries the outside, he eyes the D-line and uses a little shimmy, a stiff arm and then he just morphs into a tank and blasts in for the touchdown. Troy winds the clock down to 6 minutes remining in the first quarter. 7-0 over Sidney.
After the Yellow Jackets go 3 and out, the Trojans look to make them pay. Brayden Siler sees the pocket collapse but that’s not a problem. He hoists the ball into the night sky and it lands perfectly into the hands of Cailou Monroe for six. Trojans take a 14-0 lead with 4:03 left in the first quarter.
Later in the second quarter, Sidney needs something. Ryan Dunham, the junior, throws an incredibly tough pass in the rain to Lathan Jones.
Sidney looks to make a move and make a move they would. Dunham with a small fake launches another tough pass, this time it nets 6 points. They inch closer down 14-7 with 9:13 left before the half.
Now it’s been a hot second since we’ve seen Kulp-Bishop. After several redzone attempts that came up short, the most reliable work horse in the GWOC plows in his 21st touchdown this season. 21-7 Trojans with 5 minutes before half.
A pick by the senior Jacon Shoop, and that turnover puts the Trojans in field goal range.
Troy takes a 24-7 lead into half and goes on to win it 38-19.
