Why should you be elected?
I have a diverse career as an attorney, Acting Judge, and educator, which renders me uniquely qualified to serve as Common Pleas Judge. I have earned my reputation in the legal community for fairness, integrity, and professionalism. I have devoted my career to serving the people in communities throughout our County and will continue to do so as Judge. I am committed to the safety and improvement of our community and possess the ability to relate to people on a real level. We need a fresh perspective in our Courts, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve.
Top Three Priorities:
I want to focus on improving the use of technology to increase the efficiency of our courtrooms and dockets. I will advocate for the cultivation and expansion of our Special Dockets so that we can focus on using rehabilitative resources productively. I have been heavily involved in the Appointed Counsel program throughout my career and will continue to pursue initiatives to improve the training of young attorneys who provide representation in our Court to ensure that all litigants are represented by competent and able Counsel.
I am a former Child Protection Prosecutor with nearly ten years of experience in private practice as the owner of a local law office. I am a seasoned trial attorney, with extensive jury experience not only in this County but in Counties throughout Ohio.
I have served as an Acting Judge in Kettering Municipal Court for over two years, handling both Civil and Criminal Trial Dockets. In addition to my judicial and legal experience, I have spent the last five years as a faculty professor at Miami University where I teach Business Ethics to graduating college seniors.
I have been named one of Dayton’s Top 40 Under 40 Professionals by the Dayton Business Journal, and have taught continuing education to other attorneys locally. I have also been designated as a Rising Star by Ohio Superlawyers for two consecutive years, which is a peer-nominated and reviewed recognition of excellence in the practice of law.
