Tiyonda Elder, 34, was arrested on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence.

Officers were called to the 2000 block of Litchfield Avenue around 8 p.m. Saturday.

The victim told police Elder had bitten him and stabbed his hand with a screwdriver. He said they were both intoxicated and Elder was out in the garage smoking marijuana at her mother’s house. He said Elder’s mother told her to stop smoking in the garage and asked her to come back inside. The victim said he went into the garage to try and convince Elder to come back inside when she refused and started arguing with him. He said she then began attacking him and slashing him with a screwdriver.

Police caught up with Elder at Kings Highway and Shaftesbury Road and took her into custody.

The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.

Elder is expected in court Monday.
