PORTLAND, Ore. ” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>(KOIN) — The transit authority in Portland, Oregon has released surveillance footage from buses and trains that show ‘close calls,’ nearly hitting pedestrians and cars.
TriMet says they released the footage as an effort to increase awareness for pedestrians, drivers and bicyclists.
The agency says pedestrians are often distracted by their smartphones and earbuds. Drivers don’t always look both ways for trains when crossing tracks.
