KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — Dozens hit the pavement Saturday for a walk raising awareness about hearing loss.
The Hearing Loss Association of America hosted a Walk4Hearing fundraiser Saturday at Delco Park in Kettering.
A welcome ceremony kicked off at 9:30 a.m. with the walk immediately following.
HLAA’s Walk4Hearing fundraiser is the largest walk of its kind taking place in multiple cities nationwide. The walk is designed to increase public awareness about hearing loss prevention and raise funds for programs and services that help improve the hearing health of adults and children.
The month of May is Better Hearing and Speech Month. Hearing loss affects more than 48 million people nationwide, and more than 1.1. billion young adults worldwide are at risk of developing hearing loss.
