DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the man found dead in a Dayton apartment Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as 67-year-old Charles Hayes.

Police in Dayton are still investigating what they say is a suspicious death.

Officers were called to a multi-family home in the 2600 block of East Fifth Street around 3:15 pm Tuesday to do a welfare check.

Police say someone found an acquaintance dead inside a kitchen of one of the apartments.

Police will only say a man is dead at this time and are not releasing any details about how the man died other than to say it is suspicious.
