EAST LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the person killed in Wednesday morning crash in Logan County.The Marysville Post of the OSHP said Wednesday Lacy Smith, 56, was killed when he lost control of his pickup truck due to icy conditions just after 6 a.m. Wednesday between Bellefontaine and Marysville.
OSP says Smith crossed the median into oncoming traffic when it was hit by a semi-truck. Smith was ejected from his vehicle and both the pickup and the semi-truck caught fire.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in serious condition.
The crash is still under investigation.
