XENIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) –The victim in a fatal crash in Greene County has been identified.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 46-year-old John Glatfelter, Jr., from Springfield died in the crash.
It happened around 6:00 a.m. Monday on U.S. 68 just north of S.R. 235 in Xenia Township.
the Ohio State Highway Patrol says Glatfelter was driving south on 68 in a Dodge pick-up truck when the vehicle drifted off the left side of the road. The truck swerved back across 68, running off the right side of the road and through a fence.
The truck drove through a yard, hitting the corner of a building and slamming into a tree. Glatfelter was pronounced dead at the scene.
OSP says Glatfelter was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
Troopers on scene say alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors. OSP believes a medical issue may have caused the crash because there was no evidence of braking.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted OSP at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
