University of Kentucky law school gets $20M gift from alum

U.S. & World

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — The University of Kentucky’s College of Law has drawn a $20 million donation from one of its alumni.

The university announced the gift from J. David Rosenberg and his wife Dianne on Friday. The donation is the third largest single gift in university history.

Rosenberg specializes in corporate finance, venture capital, banking and reorganization as a senior partner in the Cincinnati firm of Keating, Muething & Klekamp, where he has practiced since 1974.

The $20 million will support merit scholarships, efforts to recruit and retain faculty and other law school program needs.

University president Eli Capilouto is recommending that the law school be renamed the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law.

Rosenberg grew up in Lexington and is a 1973 graduate of the university’s law school.
