Trump weighs in on Biden’s bid for president

U.S. & World

(NBC News) President Donald Trump weighed in on Joe Biden’s 2020 bid for president Thursday, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity that the former vice president could win the Democratic nomination.

“He is not the brightest light bulb in the group, I don’t think, but he has a name that they know,” said Mr. Trump.

Biden’s announcement video Thursday morning doubled down on what’s expected to be a central theme of his campaign: President Trump’s influence on America’s values.

“America’s coming back like we used to be: ethical; straight; telling the truth,” said Biden.

On Fox News Thursday night, the president shot back, saying that there was “tremendous division during administration.”

America could hear more from the president on Friday when he addresses the National Rifle Association in Indianapolis.
