Stolen dog returned to Texas family

MESQUITE, Texas (KETK) – Mesquite police are looking for two men who stole a puppy from the front yard of a home. The ten-week-old French Mastiff puppy named “Chipper” was taken from its owner’s front yard, right in the middle of the day.

The suspects roll up in front of the house. One of them distracts the older dogs while the other one grabs the puppy by the scruff of the neck. The animal can even be heard squealing as the man grabs it and runs back to the car. The two men then drive away as the older dogs bark at them.

Owner Matthew Ivy was devastated by the theft of his puppy.

“I’ve always been a dog lover. These guys are family. I know it’s not a kid, but to me it feels like that.”

The Ivy Family was not home at the time of the incident. They came home to find their puppy was missing.

However, Mesquite police say the puppy has been found and returned to the Ivy Family. It’s unclear who found the ten-week-old animal.

Police are still looking for the two men in the video.
