(NBC News) President Trump vowed Wednesday he is “fighting all the subpoenas” issued by Congress and will block White House officials from testifying before any investigative committees.
House Democrats are seeking everything from his financial records to testimony from White House aides following the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s redacted Russia report.
The president told the Washington Post he is opposed to his current and former aides testifying, noting that he has already cooperated with Mueller’s investigation.
“I thought after two years we’d be finished with it,” Mr. Trump said.
On Twitter, the president vowed to fight any attempt at impeachment before the Supreme Court. The court has previously ruled, however, that Congress has sole power over impeachments.
