GATESVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — An explosion has been reported at the Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville, Tuesday afternoon, according to KXAN sister station KWKT.
Ambulances are on the way to the hospital, including from Austin-Travis County EMS, which is sending five ambulances, a district commander and a division chief.
ATCEMS’ ambulance bus is also preparing to respond.
Local NBC affiliate KCEN reports there was a building collapse at the hospital and 12 patients were evacuated.
KWKT reports the explosion knocked out power to about 900 surrounding homes and businesses. Power is expected to be restored at 5 p.m.
Gatesville is located north of Fort Hood.
