Dennis Intermediate to remain closed, school offering mental health services

RICHMOND, Ind. (WDTN) – The Richmond Community Schools district has decided to keep Dennis Intermediate School closed through Tuesday to give students more time to recover from last week’s attempted school shooting.

The announced that they will make mental health counseling available to students at the west side Boys and Girls Club from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for any students who wish to talk through the shooting incident.

On Wednesday, students are expected to report to the high school’s Tiernan Center for regularly-scheduled end-of-semester activities.

Parents should drop off their students at the Tiernan Center after 8:15 a.m. at the corner of SW G and SW 2nd, near the softball field.

Normal pick-up and dismissal times remain the same.
