DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – After Thursday’s chaotic Build-a-Bear “Pay Your Age” promotion, the company is offering a new deal to customers who were affected.

In honor of Friday the 13th, Build-a-Bear is selling their stuffed friends for $13. The flash sale is only going on through Friday and purchases must be made online at Build-a-Bear’s website.

The “Pay Your Age Day” promotion on Thursday left thousands of customers disappointed and angry after massive crowds and safety concerns forced the business to shut the sale down completely. Many children and adults alike were deprived of the chance to purchase a new stuffed animal, despite waiting in line for hours.

Before completely shutting down, the company issued an alert earlier in the day, stating, “Based on the unprecedented response to our Pay Your Age Day event in our early opening stores, we are experiencing significantly longer than expected lines and large crowds. Local authorities are requiring us to limit the lines and crowds due to safety concerns. We understand this is disappointing, we are working to address the situation, and we will be reaching out to our Valued Guests soon.”
