6 people, including 4 children, believed dead in Indiana house fire

LOGANSPORT, Indiana (WDTN) — Six people, including four children, are believed dead after a house fire in Indiana early Wednesday morning.

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security confirms there are multiple fatalities.

The fire started just before 2 a.m. Wednesday on Pottawatomie Road in Logansport. The Cass County Coroner was called to the scene.

Authorities say the six people unaccounted for range in age from two months to 10 years old.

A man and woman were able to escape the home. Both were taken to the hospital. Authorities say one of those people was badly injured.

Fire officials tell WISH-TV that water supply in the area was a problem, with no fire hydrants near the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
