U.S. & World

MIAMI, Fla. (WDTN) – Three people are being treated for injuries they received during an overnight military training exercise in Florida.

There is no word on exactly what happened but the three injured are part of the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights and were involved in a pre-dawn parachute exercise at Homestead Air Reserve Base in Miami-Dade.

According to local reports, the three injured were involved in a training exercise called a “halo jump”, where they were as high as 14,000 feet in the air before opening their chutes shortly before hitting the ground.

The accident happened around 4 am local time.

All three are currently being treated at local hospitals.

Dayton air show officials announced in January that the Golden Knights are scheduled to perform at the air show in June.
