Troy man indicted for fatal Vandalia crash

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Scott Gray, of Troy, was formally indicted for the fatal vehicle crash in Vandalia from July that killed 37‐year‐old Melissa Carlson, of Englewood.

It happened in the morning hours of July 11 where Carlson was a passenger in a vehicle that was hit by Gray on South Dixie Drive near Crestview Drive in Vandalia.

Gray’s vehicle’s event data recorder showed his vehicle was traveling 101 mph five seconds before the crash and 76 mph one second before the crash in a marked 35 mph zone.

On September 5, 2015, the Carlson died as a result of the injuries she sustained in the crash.

Gray has been indicted on one count of vehicular homicide (driving under suspension) and three counts of failure to stop after an accident.

A warrant has been issued for the defendant’s arrest.

He will be arraigned on March 10, 2016.
