Suspected OVI driver hits Clark County Sheriff patrol car

News

MEDWAY, Ohio (WDTN) — A Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy making a traffic stop for a suspected OVI narrowly avoided injury when his patrol car was hit by another suspected OVI driver.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of West Main Street and Spangler Road in Medway.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the deputy was walking to a vehicle he had pulled over for a suspected OVI when another car slammed into the back of his patrol car.

OSP says the driver of the second vehicle was also suspected for OVI. Both drivers were arrested.

The impact drove the patrol car into the vehicle that was already stopped.

No one was injured in the crash.

There’s no word on any additional charges for the driver of the second vehicle.
