MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – People do strange things when they’re hungry.

Miami Township police tell 2 NEWS Brandon Snyder, 34, of Kettering, went to extremes to answer his hunger pangs.  Police say he broke into the Smash Burger in the 2300 block of Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Miami Township.

They say he broke a window to get inside, but didn’t empty the register or go after the safe.  He made himself a burger.

The suspect then went to the Mercedes-Benz dealership on Loop Road in Centerville where police say he stole a car.

Officers caught up with Snyder in Kettering and took him into custody.  They say he told them, “You should go ahead and handcuff me; this is going to make the news.”  Officers say they found raw hamburger meat, buns and other food items inside the Mercedes.

Police also took hamburger buns, burgers, cheese, lettuce and other food items out of the restaurant as evidence.

The restaurant re-opened for business at lunch time.

Snyder is in jail on felony charges.
