Substitute teacher pleads not guilty to sex charges


DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The substitute teacher accused of having sex with students appeared in court on Thursday morning.

The Montgomery County grand jury indicted Marx on November 15th on two felony counts of sexual battery. A not-guilty plea was entered and Marx was ordered not to have any contact with the witness or witnesses or anyone in this case. She was released without bail.

Marx, 23, pleaded not guilty to the similar charges in Kettering Municipal Court . She is accused of having inappropriate relations with two students. One incident happened in September and another in June.READ MORE: Teacher charged with sexual battery pleads not guilty

The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office says Marx was a substitute teacher for both Kettering and Oakwood schools.

Marx has no previous criminal record.

The former substitute teacher is due back in court December 13.
