(KRON) — Warriors superstar Steph Curry says he supports Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest but he will stand during the anthem.

Curry was interviewed at the Tech Crunch conference Tuesday evening in San Francisco.

The NBA season tips off in just about six weeks. Many players include several Warriors said they stand behind Kaepernick’s efforts to draw attention to African Americans are treated by police officers.

Curry said, “I’ll most likely stand because as Colin…if you follow the way he talks, and the message that he’s trying to send with his act, he’s, from his mouth, not disrespecting veterans, not disrespecting the military. That’s not his intention,” Curry said.

Curry added Kaepernick is trying to create the conversation for more social justice.

“So that’s not the way I’ll do it [kneeling for the anthem], but I support him and his attempt to start the conversation…,” Curry said.
