DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton Police have arrested a man after shots were fired at an off-duty Montgomery County Sheriff deputy.

He is identified as Gregory Graley, 28.

The shooting happened at 955 Pruden Ave. in Dayton.

The off-duty deputy was following a car that had been reported stolen, so he called police.  Investigators say the driver fired a shot at the deputy.

“There was one shot fired at the deputy, we are of course very happy that the deputy was not injured during the incident, that nobody else was injured and there was no damage to the deputy’s vehicle,” said Lt. Wendy Stiver, Dayton Police Department.

Graley also wrecked the stolen truck. Police say he crashed it on Springfield street near Town street.

Charges filed against Graley include having weapons under disability, carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property and felonious assault on an officer.
