DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A person called 911 after they say a male with a gunshot wound showed up at their door.
A man is in the hospital after being shot on the 700 block of Elberon Avenue just after midnight Sunday in Dayton, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.
A woman called the police when he began knocking on her door, saying he had been shot. The woman can be heard in the 911 call saying, “Someone’s banging on my door saying he got shot. But I’m not answering my door ’cause I don’t trust my neighborhood.”
Police found the man and he was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Montgomery County Regional Dispatch has since reported that the man has died.
Police are still working to determine what lead up to the shooting. No suspect information was given.
