EATON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Preble County Sheriff said Friday they arrested a man Saturday on drug charges after deputies stopped his car in Eaton.

The traffic stop happened around 12:15 in the morning on September 17 on East Main Street in Eaton.

Deputies pulled the car over for expired plates and during the traffic a K-9 alerted to the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and found a loaded shotgun on the rear seat, a small amount of marijuana, a digital scale, several small baggies with a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and other paraphernalia.

A total of six grams of methamphetamine was found in the car and deputies believe the meth was packaged fro sale, according to the Preble County Sheriff.

44-year-old James A. Sullivan from Lewisburg was arrested and charged with aggravated possession of drugs, aggravated trafficking in drugs and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle, all felonies. Sullivan was also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
