TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – Trotwood Police are investigating a double shooting, and are looking into the possibility that a shootout is to blame.

Crews were called to the 4300 block of Curundu Avenue in Trotwood just after 9:45 p.m., Monday.

Trotwood Police Captain John Porter tells 2 NEWS a woman noticed a car in her driveway, and reported two people inside appeared to be shot.

Antoine Jones, a 16-year old Fairmont High School student, and 20-year old Fausto Sosa of Trotwood were found dead inside the vehicle when police arrived on scene.

Porter tells 2 NEWS that his office is waiting for a search warrant to investigate inside the car that the victims were found in. Officials have already found two guns, bullets and shell casings.

The captain says the two victims may have been shooting each other and there is currently no other indication of other suspects. The motive may be drug-related, officials say.

Authorities believe that there may be a connection with the home that the car was parked in front of. Captain Porter said one of the victims may be a local high school student.

He tells 2 NEWS there were multiple reports of shots fired calls coming in at around the time of the shooting; however, when police responded to the area, they were unable to find anything.

This marks the first and second homicides of the year for Trotwood and is being investigated as a “possible shootout”.

“We don’t believe this is a random type of event, though. Also located in the vehicle were two handguns located around the two victims indicating that they were both armed at the time,” he added, “There was possibly some type of shootout between them and some other people.”

We will update the story with more information as it becomes available.
