VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) – The man who is believed to be a person of interest in the shooting death of Brittany Russell appeared in Vandalia Municipal Court Tuesday.
Curtis H. Burdette Jr. was arraigned on a single possession of cocaine charge, a fifth-degree felony by way of satellite. He is being held on a $100,000 cash bond at the Montgomery County Jail.
Burdette also faces drug charges in Dayton.
Russell was found dead Feb. 10 inside her car on Free Pike in Dayton while her six-month-old was in the backseat. Dayton police say interviews with friends and witnesses confirmed Burdette was a person of interest in the case.
On Friday, Feb. 12, detectives interviewed Burdette, who at the time was found to have illegal drugs in his possession. He was taken into custody shortly after.
