Parents beat convicted pedophile to death with his own trumpet

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (WDTN) — A convicted pedophile was beaten to death in Buenos Aires after he was attacked by a group of angry parents.

Marcelo Fabian Pecollo, 42, was sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2010 for molesting five preschool children, AFP reports. He was released from prison early in 2014.

On Oct. 30, Pecollo was playing his trumpet in a cathedral orchestra when a group of parents barged in and said, "There is a pedophile and a rapist in the church and he is playing in this orchestra," AFP reported.

Pecollo tried to escape, but the group caught up to him and beat him. One of the weapons used was his own trumpet.

Pecollo died last week. He had been accused in several other cases of rape, but was only tried on five of them.
