DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Police Department, along with members of the Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County, will hold a sobriety checkpoint at 10:00 p.m. Friday in the area of Wayne Avenue and Wyoming Street.
The Task Force is trying to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities in Dayton and Montgomery County. Police say these checkpoints help to deter impaired driving and aid in the apprehension of impaired drivers who make the choice to get behind the wheel and drive.
Police and the Task Force encourage everyone to designate a sober driver while traveling.
The Clark County OVI Task Force is also holding a sobriety checkpoint Friday night. The location will be on 235 in New Carlisle and begins at 8:00 p.m.
Money for the checkpoint comes from the Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery County.
