WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – A wrong-way driver led an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper on a chase in Warren County on Tuesday.
WLWT reports that it happened when Warren County deputies tried to stop a driver traveling 96 mph in a 65 mph zone on Mason Montgomery Road near I-71.
A trooper started to chase the car to the Kings Mills Road exit when it got back on I-71 and proceeded to drive the wrong way multiple times on the interstate.
The trooper manages to get the vehicle to crash by using a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver before arresting the driver.
29-year-old Michael Cooke is now in the Warren County Jail on charges of reckless driving and OVI.
Drugs are suspected to be a factor in the chase.
