The man accused of plotting a 4th of July terrorist attack in Cleveland will appear in court Thursday.
Demetrius Pitts, 48, was arrested Sunday after meeting with an undercover agent.
He faces charges of attempted support of a terrorist organization.
The FBI says Pitts planned to launch an attack during Cleveland’s parade and fireworks display.
Authorities say prior to the celebration, he was casing downtown hotspots like St. John’s Cathedral, and Voinovich Park.
An FBI informant met with Pitts and recorded their conversations.
Court records show Pitts has a criminal past. He served time for robbery and pleaded guilty to theft in Ohio. Two years ago, Pennsylvania wanted to extradite him for charges of assault, robbery and theft there.
