SWAT called to Hamilton apartment after shots fired call

SWAT officers were called to an apartment in Hamilton after a report of shots fired.

Police went to the 800 block of S. Erie Boulevard, near Hamilton Avenue, just after 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

A woman called 911 saying she had been shot at in an apartment above a car dealership.

When officers arrived, they found the woman with injuries to her face, hands and legs.She was taken to UC Hospital West Chester with reported non-life threatening injuries.

Officers at the scene found a possible suspect inside the apartment. Police set up a perimeter and ordered the suspect to come out several times.

When he refused, Hamilton SWAT was called to the scene. SWAT was preparing to enter the apartment when the suspect came out voluntarily.

Police took the suspect to the Hamilton Police Department for questioning.

The incident is under investigation.
