CINCINNATI, Ohio (WDTN) — A tip from a concerned citizen led to a human trafficking bust in Cincinnati.
WLWT reports police went to PLS Check Cashing at the corner of Reading Road and Liberty Street Sunday. Officers found a teen girl in the back of a U-Haul.
Investigators say the girl was being used for sex.
Police found Michael Nason, Tiffany Cheek and Carl Hickman, from Corbin, Kentucky, with the 16-year-old girl in the U-Haul. Officers arrested all three suspects.
Authorities say the girl was reported missing Saturday. She had been entered into a national database for missing people.
The girl has been returned to her family in southern Kentucky.
Investigators say Tiffany Cheek showed the teen fake documents and claimed to be the girl’s guardian.
According to investigators, Nason had sex with the girl in the U-Haul while they were driving to Cincinnati.
Police arrested Hickman on drug charges. Authorities say he will be extradicted back to Kentucky.
Knox County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nason on several charges, including kidnapping and rape. Cheek is facing several charges as well, including kidnapping and custodial interference.
Authorities say all three suspects will face human trafficking charges.
