MONROE, Ohio (WDTN) – The parents of a teenage girl killed in a car accident on prom night back in April have filed a lawsuit against the teen who was driving the car she was in, as well as other entities.
Our sister station WLWT reports that 17-year-old Kaylie Jackson’s parents filed a civil wrongful death lawsuit in June, but details are just now starting to surface.
Speed was a factor in the deadly crash along Millikin Road in Liberty Township and the driver, also a teenage girl, is facing charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated murder in connection with the accident.
The lawsuit accuses the driver of operating the car in a “malicious, reckless, wanton and willful manner.”
Insurance companies are also named in the lawsuit in order to cover the family’s medical expenses incurred while Jackson was in the hospital.
The driver’s criminal trial will begin on December 3.
