The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash

According to a release, it happened on Dixie Highway at Manchester Road in Middletown at 8:20 Saturday morning.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Pontiac Bonneville, driven by  Ladarius V. Hawkins, 28, was northbound on Dixie Highway when it failed to stop at a red light and struck a 2009 Honda CRV.

The CRV drove off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, and came to rest in the road.

The driver, Roger Lohman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The front seat passenger in the CRV, Norma Lohman, was transported to Antrim Hospital and later transported to Miami Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
