Starting July 2, Ohio licenses and identification cards will have a new look and new features.
The new cards will include added security features and identity protection.
The state will also offer two options: a standard card or a compliant card that meets travel security requirements and provides access to federal facilities and military bases.
Ohio will also start issuing licenses through the mail. All licenses and ID cards will be mailed ten days after renewing or applying for a new card.
You’ll get a temporary card to use while you’re waiting.
If you have a current drivers license but would like to receive a new TSA-approved card, you must resubmit five elements of your identity which include birth date, full name, social security number, legal presence in United States and resident’s address.
You are required to submit two forms showing address to get the Federally mandated travel card.
Ohio joins 41 other states that provide licenses and ID cards through the mail.
