Cincinnati native Abby Cates is moving on to the next round in NBC’s The Voice.

Monday night Cates battled Team Kelly teammate Delaney Silvernell and, after the two sang a duet of “Love Me Like You Do” by Ellie Goulding, Kelly declared 17-year-old Abby the winner.

Abby has been singing and performing as long as she can remember. She started choir in kindergarten and joined theater in the second grade. She is currently a worship leader in her school and enjoys making music a part of her life any way that she can.

When Abby isn’t working on music, she performs as princess characters at birthday parties. Abby is used to playing various roles, but “The Voice” is her first chance to take the stage and just be herself.

You can catch The Voice on WDTN Monday’s from 8-10 pm and Tuesday’s from 8-9 pm.

The battles continue tonight at 8:00 pm. See who else make it through to the knockout rounds.
