WASHINGTON (WDTN) – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is introducing legislation to support Ohio’s auto industry and keep auto jobs in the United States.

The bill, American Cars, American Jobs Act, would encourage customers to buy American-made cars and close a loophole in the GOP tax law that encourages auto manufacturers to close domestic auto plants and ship jobs out of the United States.

The legislation is being introduced as General Motors recently announced plans to build their new Chevy Blazer in Mexico on the same day the company ended the second shift at its plant in Lordstown.
