MASON, Ohio (WDTN) – Kings Island announced Thursday that their antique cars ride is returning to the park next spring.
Guests will board replica classic cars in the new Kings Mills Antique Autos family ride and take a leisurely drive around a scenic path equipped with a small rail to keep the car on track.
14 years ago, the park closed its original antique car ride, Les Taxis. Kings Mills Antique Autos will be comparable to Les Taxis but will feature new enhancements.
“When we ask guests what they would like to see return to Kings Island, the most popular response, by far, is the antique cars,” said Vice President and General Manager Mike Koontz. “For so many, it’s an attraction they remember riding with their family or it was their first ‘driving’ experience as a kid. That’s why I think it holds such a special place in their hearts.”
The ride will be stationed in Coney Mall, across from the Juke Box Café and alongside The Racer roller coaster, and last approximately three minutes.
The cars are two-third scale replicas of the 1911 Ford Model T.
