TURTLECREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – The Lebanon Post of the Ohio state Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on State Route 63 near state Route 741 in Turtlecreek Township, Warren County.
A call of a multiple vehicle injury crash with entrapment came in at 5:18 pm. The Lebanon Highway Patrol Post responded to the scene on State Route 63 in front of the Lebanon Correctional Institute.
A tan 2001 Honda Accord was stopped in traffic on eastbound State Route 63 when it was struck from behind by a blue 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Nicholas Short, of Cincinnati.
As a result, the Honda Accord was pushed left of center and collided head-on with a blue 2009 Honda Odyssey that was traveling westbound, driven by Michael B. Cramer, of Lebanon.
The driver of the Honda Accord was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
Four people from the Odyssey were ground transported to The Atrium Hospital in Middletown with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash, though distracted driving does appear to have been a contributing factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
