BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – A former Corrections Officer has been arrested and charged with bribery after allegedly bringing in several illegal items into the Butler County Correctional Facility.
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports that among those items include cell phones, miscellaneous tools, and protein powder.
A routine cell search was conducted recently, and a cell phone was found in the pod where Officer Moore was assigned.
An investigation began as a result, and it was found that Officer Brandon Moore was responsible for bringing items to inmates in exchange for money.
“It is never easy when you have to investigate one of your own. We are, and should be, held to a higher accountability. He knew the rules, he knew better, and he did it anyway,” said Detective Sergeant Ed Tanner.
More charges could be added soon.
