CINCINNATI, Ohio (WDTN) — Cincinnati hopes to get the green light from Major League Soccer Tuesday.

MLS is expected to announce its next franchise, with FC Cincinnati considered a likely contender to receive the bid.

The Cincinnati City Council voted to support the construction of a soccer-specific stadium for the team.

It will be located in the west end neighborhood, near downtown, with an estimated cost of $212 million.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber will announce the league’s new franchise at a press conference 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
