Ohio

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Body cam footage has been released that shows Columbus police officers saving a suicidal girl.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 8:19 am, March 20, officers Kropp, Salsgiver, Sebatiano and probationary officer Townsley were called to the Greenlawn Bridge on the report of a possible suicidal teenager.

Police say the distraught 17-year-old girl was threatening to jump from the bridge and into the Scioto River.

When officers arrived on scene they witnessed the girl jump over the railing and onto the river side of the bridge.

But before she could jump, the officers pulled her over the railing and back to safety.

The girl’s family arrived shortly after before she was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
