Caught on Cam: Middletown road rage incident leads to shooting


MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WDTN) – A parking lot fight in Middletown lead to a man being shot Monday night.

It unfolded in the 3500 block of Dixie Highway with a one-year-old child and three-year-old child at the scene, where a restaurant employee captured the incident on cellphone video.

Middletown Police say 25-year-olds Chase Harris and Jessica Payne pulled into the parking lot as part of a road rage incident.

Fighting broke out, prompting Harris to pull out a handgun and shoot the other driver in the leg.

The victim drove himself to Atrium Medical Center for treatment.

Harris was charged with Felonious Assault and Endangering Children, while Payne was charged with Complicity to Felonious Assault and Endangering Children.

Further charges may be pending.
