CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – A college student got the chance of a lifetime in Cleveland Tuesday night.
Scott Williams, 21, got pulled up on stage at Quicken Loans Arena to play guitar and sing and dance with Bruce Springsteen.
“At the beginning of (Springsteen’s hit) ‘Dancing in the Dark,’ I had a sign that said ‘All I want is a dance with you,'” the Austintown man said. “And it had a picture of Bruce and I on it. I put my sign on stage and he laughed at it and he points to me and says ‘I’ll be back’.”
This was Scott’s 16th Springsteen concert. He says he’s met him several times, but never got to go on stage.
Later in the show, Williams says, “(Springsteen) said ‘come on’ and I went up there and danced a little bit. And he says ‘c’mon lets play the guitar.’ I don’t think I played the right chords.”
Scott says he plans on going to two more concerts this week and traveling to at least 5 more over the spring. He has the money for these concerts by saving a little from each paycheck.
One of Scott’s favorite songs that The Boss performed last night was, of course, “Youngstown.”
